About Lamp Medic
Owner and Founder Tom Kanellopoulos began restoring and repairing lighting in 1994, apprenticing under a master restorer for four years before taking over his business in 1998 when he retired. Tom’s passion and dedication to the art of lighting restoration has grown to include him not only becoming a master restorer, he has also become a master in metal patination, as well as gold, nickel, silver and chrome plating, rewiring, metal repairs/re-finishing, and customizing lighting fixtures to client specifications.
Tom’s hard work, study and expansion of services offered grew his business beyond expectation and he partnered with his brother Gus Kanellopoulos, forming, (still open) Lighting Arts Studio in New York City. Together Tom and Gus became the premier Antique Lighting Restorers in New York City. They worked together in NYC until 2020, when fast forward to today and the business has grown all the way down the East Coast to Savannah, GA. One of the best areas in North America to find spectacular antique lighting and Early-American furniture and Art.
Tom and Cristina fell in love with Savannah while visiting and decided that they wanted to call Savannah home – Permanently. Luckily for them (and us) because Lamp Medic was born.
Some of Tom’s past and present clients include (but are not limited to):
Maison Gerard, Harry Winston, Herve Van der Straeten, Ayala Serfaty, Jean Perzel, Paul Donzella, Jean Karajan and Achille Salvagni.
